How do I know my idea will be protected?
When you submit with RSG, before we process your payment and accept your video, you must agree to the terms and conditions (“T & C”). In the T & C it clearly states that YOUR idea that is submitted on behalf of the RSG, belongs to YOU. We have an agreement with our production partner as your representative, so in actuality, the idea or concept that you submit, is presented on behalf of the RSGs. As stated i the T & C’s the RSG will share in any revenue earned by show ideas brought our production partner by RSGs, so WE have a vested interest in protecting YOUR concept.
Will my show be picked up?
We don’t know. We would love to say yes, yet we don’t know until we go in and present the ideas. We’ve had ideas we thought were winners… and according to our production partners, they weren’t. And we’ve had ideas that we thought we “OK”… and our production partner LOVED them. We have shows in development right now that we didn’t think were our best ideas. So, the answer is, you never know. Here’s what we DO KNOW: You have no chance of getting your show picked up if it’s just sitting in your mind… and it’s not in front of someone qualified who can actually take your idea it to the next level. You know the baseball saying – “You’ve got to swing the bat to get a hit.”
How does it work if your production partner is interested in my show?
It depends on the situation. First of all, we would let you know! From there, it just depends. They could ask for more video, a conference or Skype call or they may want to meet you or the other people in your show. It really depends on the situation and that’s when it gets exciting. That’s when you really get to get involved, meet the team and bring your concept to reality. Our production partner could accept your idea, and may send a camera crew to your location to add some more depth and spice up your reel. At this point, our production partners could take the show out to the networks that would be interested and sell the show. For instance, if your show is about relationships, they wouldn’t take it to SPIKE, they would take it to the appropriate networks that are looking for your show concept. That’s how we started… we found a way to get a meeting, pitched a show and built the relationships.
Why should I submit my concept with the RSGs?
Because it’s your first step to getting to where you want to go. You could be an incredibly talented or creative person, yet you’re in a situation where your ideas are not getting out to the places you need. Maybe you have real talent as a reality show creator, producer or on-air talent… and if no one is seeing your work, you’re not getting any closer to your goals. We can get you one-step closer. You never know what can happen, yet you MUST get “in the game” for you to have any chance at all. The bottom line is we are giving you ACCESS to Hollywood and our production partner. If you’re idea is solid and they like you… you’re off to the races.
